AP Studio Art
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS | link to pdf (read section related to your portfolio)
PORTFOLIO | explains what you need to submit and how you will be assessed
2D Portfolio | Any and all 2 dimensional materials may be used in this portfolio (drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, etc). This portfolio is assessed for the use of the elements and principles of art.
Drawing Portfolio | Any drawing materials may be used (pencil, pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, marker, conte crayon, etc). This portfolio is assessed for the drawing techniques, as well as the use of elements and principles of art.
3D Portfolio | Any and all 3 dimensional materials may be used in this portfolio (clay, plaster, recycled sculpture, carving, cardboard construction, assemblage, etc). This portfolio is assessed for 3D techniques, as well as the elements and principles of art.

S1 MIDTERM CHECKPOINT | Monday September 25th
--> 8 pieces completed
S1 FINAL CHECKPOINT AND CRITIQUE | Monday December 11th
--> 16 pieces completed
S2 MIDTERM CHECKPOINT | Monday February 26th
--> 22 pieces completed - either your breadth or concentration are complete
PHOTOGRAPH ARTWORK AND EDIT PHOTOS | week of April 16-20
--> Scaling to correct dimensions, color balancing, cropping, touch ups
S2 FINAL CHECKPOINT & FINAL PORTFOLIO CRITIQUE | Monday April 23rd
--> 25+ pieces completed
COMPLETE WRITTEN PORTION OF PORTFOLIO | week of April 23-27
--> Scaling to correct dimensions, color balancing, cropping, touch ups
PORTFOLIOS COMPLETED & FORWARDED TO TEACHER | Monday April 30th
--> Images arranged on digital submission site with titles, materials and measurements
FINISHING TOUCHES COMPLETED FOR PORTFOLIO | Friday May 4th
--> Update based on teacher input
QUALITY WORKS PACKAGED | Friday May 11th in class
--> stickers on each piece, mounted for safe travel, touched up
PORTFOLIOS SENT TO AP BY BARTON | Friday May 11th by 8:00pm
